Our repertoire spans sweet, haunting ballads, early American country harmonies, love songs, and lively fiddle tunes and instrumentals. Influenced by folk traditions and modern Americana greats like Alison Krauss and Gillian Welch, we bring depth and authenticity to every performance.

Specializing in intimate gatherings, we create the perfect ambiance for welcoming dinners, cocktail hours, wedding celebrations, and other memorable events. With a deep respect for musical traditions and a passion for storytelling, our music connects hearts and sets the stage for unforgettable moments.

Jody Engstrom

The daughter of two master guitar makers, Jody grew up surrounded by music and craftsmanship. Immersed in bluegrass, folk, and old-time traditions, she began playing mandolin and fiddle at 13, later transitioning to guitar to support her passion for singing.

While in high school in Townsend, Montana, Jody met Marcus, a Swedish musician and luthier apprenticing under her father. Their shared love of music sparked a connection, and after Marcus returned to Sweden, they stayed in touch. In 2005, Jody traveled to Sweden, and nine months later, they married and returned to the U.S. to build their life together.

Jody’s professional career began in 2008 with Little Jane and the Pistol Whips, showcasing her soulful vocals and Americana roots. After taking a brief hiatus in 2010 to focus on motherhood, she joined Jawbone Railroad in 2011, where she discovered her passion for acoustic bass. The instrument became her voice's perfect counterpart, anchoring her music with warmth and depth.

Over the years, Jody has brought her heartfelt artistry and rich harmonies to bands such as Jawbone RailroadAcony Belles, and Honey & Rye. Her latest project, Jody & the Woodflowers, features her husband Marcus and often their teenage daughter, Ariana, on fiddle. Together, they create a sound that blends bluegrass, folk, and Americana with a family-centered spirit.

For Jody, music is more than performance—it’s a way to connect, share stories, and celebrate traditions while embracing the joys of family and community.

Marcus Engstrom

ACOUSTIC GUITAR, TELECASTER

Marcus was born in Bjursås, Sweden, where his passion for music and instruments began early. At 13, he not only started playing classical guitar but also began exploring lutherie, repairing and crafting instruments with a natural talent and dedication. Over time, he expanded his musical repertoire to include rock and blues on electric guitar, as well as Swedish folk traditions on fiddle.

Determined to master lutherie, Marcus attended a prestigious four-year instrument-making school in Norway. After graduating in 2003 and passing the journeyman’s examination in Markneukirchen, Germany, he embarked on a professional journey that brought him to Montana, where he apprenticed under master luthier Dan Roberts, Jody’s father. Their shared love of music quickly brought Marcus and Jody together. After returning to Sweden, Marcus and Jody stayed in touch, and in 2005, she visited him. Nine months later, they married and settled in Montana.

In Montana, Marcus has balanced his passion for lutherie with a vibrant music career. He has played guitar in several bands, including www.Twang, Montana Rose, Little Jane and the Pistol Whips, and Honey & Rye. His current project, Jody & the Woodflowers, features his wife Jody and their daughter Ariana, blending bluegrass, folk, and Americana.

Marcus’s lifelong dedication to music and craftsmanship shines in everything he does, from restoring vintage Gibson and Martin guitars to creating heartfelt performances on stage.
